How Do You Get a Newborn to Sleep?

You go outside in the 112 degree heat, of course! That's right, we spent several hours outside during the heat of the day (we did take breaks to cool off in the house) so that we could get some newborn shots of this sleepy little guy. And when I say little, I mean little. Meet J, he is already a month old and is weighing in at just over 5 pounds and he has already put on a pound if you can believe it. He was born almost 7 weeks early and spent 2 1/2 weeks in the hospital, but he is doing great!

I was so happy to take pictures of this wonderful family. We have been friends since college and my husband and M have actually been friends since they were about 12. They spent many years wheelchair racing together and then were roommates in college. So it was fun spending the afternoon together. Even though we live close to each other we don't see each other often enough.

Enough talk though, I wanted to share a few pictures, ok a lot of pictures. I just can't help it. He is just too cute.

I love the relationship between mother and baby. She was just in awe of her sweet son and I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to capture that moment.

I had to share a few pictures of big bro also. Isn't he cute? Fast too! This first picture shows exactly what he did the entire time we were taking pictures--RUN! He definitely wore me out. Do kids not feel the heat? Because I was dying and he never stopped running and didn't seem to care at all that it felt like we were on the surface of the sun.

Well, thank you for letting me come to your home and try whatever I wanted. You were great sports and I hope that you are happy with the results!

Jodi, these pictures are amazing I love them. These are Matt and melinda's kid's right? They are so tiny it makes me sad how huge Leila and Hailey are getting. My kids are just a little bit older then their kids are I think. Cute, cute, cute. I had so much fun with Brookly today thank you. Sorry I got her home so late.
